Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn't people feel as free to delight in whatever remains to them?

Helsinki, 2 degrees

What a stormy day! Today Helsinki was really tossed around! Wind, snow like rain, you mention it! The storm was so bad that we actually had more customers than usual due to the weather! People preferred to come inside our office than spend time out on the town.

On a day like this, it's best to pamper oneself! I did so by visiting my beauty saloon Blue Lagoon for my monthly nail and eyelash appointment. It's so comfortable to indulge oneself at least once a month. I know the girls quite well at the saloon already since I've been going there for over a year so I feel comfortable enough to fall asleep while I get my lashes fixed. That's trusting for you!

I went some time ago to the 5th birthday party of my beauty saloon, and I thought this would be a good opportunity to add the picture we made at the party to my blog. I'm wearing my so called safety dress that I mentioned in an earlier post called Dress life buoy.

The beauty saloon girls are so nice, they even offered me some glögi (mulled wine-without alcohol though!) while I was fixing my nails. I love glögi, I could drink it all year around but some things are best kept seasonal, otherwise one could get too used to them if you know what I mean.

My mom has always served glögi in these stunning Finnish Iittala glasses, so therefore these are for me the only right ones for it. Can't you almost feel the taste just by looking at the picture? Happy Friday everyone!

  1. Love glogi, though here we just call it glog and I'm quite sure it's not as good as the real thing :). Pampering time is so needed, and looks like everything turned out beautifully, that pic of you is stunning!

  3. omg! I hope everyone's safe over there in Helsinki. I love your place so much, I went there for a cruise with my family from the Philippines. Such a cute environment and wouldn't even believe a storm would come your way because it's like a fairytale land i think :) I also think it's cool that you go to your saloon every month. I would love that too!♥
