“Sometimes I wish life had a fast-forward button”

Helsinki, -4 degrees

This week has truly been in a fast forward mode: there's been millions of things in my mind! Even though we like to think that it would sometimes be good to have such a button, I can assure you that when you're living in a mode that feels like fast forwarding, your mind has troubles with keeping up! Like I mentioned, I celebrated my birthday on Monday, but it passed so fast! Even though this wasn't an important birthday, it went by in a blur, in the sense that there has been so much to do after Monday that I didn't get to enjoy the pampering for long, haha. I'm being a martyr now because I celebrated my birthday with my family on Sunday and I'll have the actual birthday party with friends only on this Saturday.

On Monday I had a an amazing time with my boyfriend when we went for a surprise dinner to seaside restaurant Blue Peter. The restaurant is charmingly located on an island, about 10 minutes by car from the Helsinki city center so it was tranquil and romantic just in the way I had wished for. We could watch the large cruise ships passing by in the distance while eating. I had reindeer-cheese soup as starter, perch fish as main course and yummy pancakes as dessert!

The rest of the week has been heavily work related, but of course there's been some fun elements as well! Even though I like to say that I work with the best boss/colleague, Helsinki that is ♡

At work we are already looking forward to year 2013. The marketing of a city starts way early so that good planning can be made! If you would like to get inside my head for a while and find out more about what I work with, have look at this 60-second-long video of my amazing city!

    1. I'm happy that you like it Sam! What did you like about it? Since you're having the next World Design Capital in South Africa, how is it visible right now over there?

  4. It would be nice to fast forward life sometimes, and skip to the parts where things aren't quite so hectic and crazy! It sounds like you had a good birthday, even if it went by quickly!
