Holiday, celebrate!

Helsinki, 12 degrees

Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate

If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice

Source

Everybody spread the word
We`re gonna have a celebration
All across the world
In every nation
It`s time for the good times
Forget about the bad times, oh yeah
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday

Source

You can turn this world around
And bring back all of those happy days
Put your troubles down
It`s time to celebrate
Let love shine
And we will find
A way to come together
And make things better
We need a holiday

Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate

Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate

Holiday, Celebration
Come together in every nation

These last few days have been all about preparing for my two-week-long holiday!

Friday passed by in a blur since I had to hurry up to be able to finish all my work duties before going on holiday! Friday afternoon and evening was later devoted to holiday celebrations at Navy Jerry's Rum Bar with some colleagues! I warmly recommend this bar for everybody visiting Helsinki since it takes you back in time to the 40's and has a Pearl Harbor interior style, as the bar calls it "a pacific kitsch and naval officer mess"! I especially liked its Campari drinks since usually it's hard to find good, new cocktails based on my beloved Campari!

Saturday was spent doing a restaurant tour of the city. I've lately joined  a group that developes food tours in Helsinki so I had the pleasure of taking part of this product development team for the first time in action this Saturday!

Saturday evening was spent in the company of an Italian female magazine journalist at island restaurant Saaristo, on Klippan island in front of Helsinki. It was interesting to hear why she had decided now to visit Helsinki for the first time. She came from Milan, so we had lots to talk about!

Unique about the design menu we had at the restaurant was the fact that it used Finnish glassware, like Iittala's stunning Kastehelmi (in English: dew pearl) plate which you see here in this picture in blue with some meringue.

Sunday on the other hand was spent in the great company of one of my best friends, lunching and enjoying coffee. We had some Malesian food, and I used some pink lipstick and my new snake pattern bag.

Today I've been spending my first holiday day being a tourist in my beautiful home city! I finally had some time enough to wander around in the downtown area and see the garden that decorates our Central Railway Station! I think it's a wonderful idea to color up the train tracks with some flowers and plants! I even picked up some skillfully drawed cards of some main sights in Helsinki at the temporary design shop at the station.

Finally, I went to pick up from the main post office the amazing package I received from one of my best friends living in the United States!

She had sent me some pampering items and a bracelet with Baltic amber. Baltic amber jewelry is said to be fossilized tree resin, not a stone. Historically, it has been used as a natural and traditional remedy and curative for many ailments for centuries, since it has some of the highest concentrations of Succinic Acid found in nature, and this is what makes it so special. Do you believe in natural remedies?

I'll tell you more about my holiday in upcoming posts...

What's your opinion?

    1. Haha thank you Shannon, I'm glad if you think so! :) The most important thing in life is, besides to love and to be loved in return, to be satisfied with one's life, don't you think?

Euphoriaa olisi voitu soittaa muutaman kerran vähemmän.. :P

    Toivotaan siulle aurinkoista lomaa! ^^

  5. Ainiin, vastaus #2:

Löydän biisejä oikeastaan ihan vahingossa, ja varmaan yhtä nopeasti unohdankin niitä.. Siksi on hyvä keksintö esim.

  6. So many great photos!
And re: the lace shorts, they are two layers. The lace is one layer that is sheer and thin meant to be worn under a pair of shorts. I hope that makes sense! :)
