We hardly ever realize that we can cut anything out of our lives, anytime, in the blink of an eye.

Helsinki, 14 degrees

I found a glimpse of the future so to say when I saw the pictures from Jason Wu's Resort pre-spring collection 2013 and I thought it would be nice to show you dear readers what lies ahead!

It seems next spring is all about interesting cuts, still bold colors but this time mainly yellow, orange, electric blue and green, and material combinations, e.g. chiffon and leather.

What do you say about these waistbags? A do or don't?

I personally like the clutches in the collection as well, they look almost box like.

I've also liked the fact that the website Fashionising had picked out five resort collections that were inspired by art, and I wanted to present them to you here. Sculpture, painting, taxidermy... if it can be made a visual art, odds are fashion has used it as inspiration on more than one occasion.

Can you see the similarities between the finished outfits and the spark of inspiration they gathered from their so called Muses?

Prabal Gurung and Aaron Moran's fragmented sculptures

Anna Sui & the Art Nouveau movement

Helmut Lang and Kate MccGwire's artwork from feathers

Jason Wu and Mike Libby's Insect Lab that customizes real insect specimens with antique watch parts and other technological components

Did you think when you saw the collection above that it was inspired by insects?

Giles & Classical sculpture

What collection inspired you the most? What are you mostly looking forward to next year fashionwise?

What's your opinion?
