Midsummer 2012

Why this is very midsummer madness.

I'll continue with my Copenhagen pictures after the weekend, but this weekend can't be about anything else than MIDSUMMER! Midsummer is one of the biggest celebrations in Finland when we celebrate the longest amount of light during one day. Right now we have about 19 hours of light throughout the day, and that is definitely something worth celebrating! We usually celebrate Midsummer in the countryside with our families and/or friends, eat well and lit bonfires, but an increasing amount of people stay in the city to celebrate what we call city Midsummer. I plan to head to Sipoo, a city 40 minutes East of Helsinki, since that's from where my special someone is!

Remember girls that Midsummer is all about finding seven different flowers and putting them underneath your pillow at night, in order to dream about your future husband! At least that's what the Finnish tradition says..

Lately I've been crazy about floral crowns! I wonder if I can manage to make one tomorrow...
