Turquoise

Helsinki, 21 degrees

The good writer, the great writer, has what I have called the three S's: the power to see, to sense, and to say. That is, he is perceptive, he is feeling, and he has the power to express in language what he observes and reacts to.

This morning Helsinki woke up to yet again a rainy morning, but the day turned out to be sunny. Looking out through our living room window, I'm greeted by seagulls, a breeze of warm summer air that whispers together with the vividly green leaves in the trees that summer is here! One of the most inspiring colors this summer has been turquoise that actually used to be my favorite color when I was around 17. I think turquoise is an excellent summer color since it reminds me of water. Yesterday when taking an evening walk I admired the seaside of Helsinki as I walked along the shore close by to our apartment building. Turquoise, like water, has a million different shades which make it an exciting color, don't you think?

My interpretation of this color takes form as this H&M turquoise jacket and dress which I found among the items that were on sale. I didn't have any clothing with the paisley pattern yet, so I immediately fell in love with this dress when I saw it! How do you feel about paisley?

Even though turquoise can be a bright color, it's also a shade of blue. Recently I've encountered some disappointments, concerning human behavior.

Disappointments are when the heart sinks,
and hope turns to shame,
guilt feels right, calling out my name.
Hard work is done but to no avail,
happiness eludes me and feels like a nail.
Joy is out of sight no matter what I do,
it was right in front of me, somehow I knew.
To lift myself up is what I must go through,
to give myself a break, it was the best that I could do.

How do you deal with disappointment?

What's your opinion?
