Ruffian - baroque goes minimalism

Helsinki, 15 degrees

You know that chick that used to dance a lot  - Every night she'd be on the floor shaking what she'd got - Man when I tell you she was cool, she was red hot - I mean she was steaming.

I don't think it comes as any surprise to you, my dear readers, that the New York Fashion Week is here again! This week reveals next year's fashion trends and shows off interesting new fashion highlights! On a daily basis, there are tons of interesting catwalk shows held and pictures are everywhere! I have tried to find the ones that have caught my eye the most, and those are the ones I'll share with you.

Ruffian's spring/summer collection for 2013 is definitely a collection that is of my liking! Baroque goes minimalism with luxury fabrics! One could say that the cool kids are back on the block! The models of this collection showed fierce outfits with converse shoes and playful silhouettes, shirts tied to the side paired with shorts and cute neck scarfs. There are also some boyfriend jackets, in pastel colors of course, since these are for ladies. This collection took me back to the 50's (even though I've never lived that era but this is how I imagine it from movies like Grease and so on) and somehow reminded me of this song from the 70's because this collection needed a rock song!

To cap it off, Ruffian’s collection had poofed up hair on each girl, kind of rockabilly style, a style that has become one of the popular hairstyles of the young generation. You might remember that I tried the same hairdo in an earlier post that you can see here. I also liked that many of the models had red lips! Enjoy!

What do you think about this rebellious style?

What's your opinion?

  1. oh dear, I'm actually not sure what to think..
I looove all the pastels - definitely the most feminine shades. and I also love those cute little blazers and the fact those models are wearing comfy yet cool sneakers. rebellious for sure! but I'm not too sure about those slightly strange pants which remind me of sleeping pants, to be completely honest.
anyway, I'm glad you shared those photos because most of those make an awesome inspiration!
