My Little Pony

Helsinki, 11 degrees

Horses and children, I often think, have a lot of the good sense there is in the world.

Some two weeks ago I came across a dress on Etsy that I immediately fell in love with. I reacted to the dress partly because of its striking presentation on the website. The girl who modelled the dress had black hair and tattoos, which made me instantly realize the innocence of the dress thanks to the contrast between the rough model and the soft colors. The soft pastel colors stood out so clearly on a model like this. I even fell in love with the name of this vintage dress from the 80's: Star Burst Candy Strip Secretary. I had to have it!

Like I mentioned, the dress for me stood out from these pictures thanks to its soft colors which got me thinking about no other than one of my childhood favorite TV shows - My Little Pony!

I also started thinking about how these soft colors still affect us today, and how My Little Pony can be seen as a huge fashion inspiration still today. My Little Pony can be seen in clothing, accessories and interior design but even hair color!

The nursery aged girl, that used to watch the TV show and still lives inside me, is extremely happy every time I put on this dress. Somehow childhood memories make me feel all warm inside.

What childhood TV show has inspired you? Do you ever feel nostalgic?
