Home decor & interior inspiration

Helsinki, 8 degrees

If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance.

Today I finally had enough free time to spend some of it on the interior of our home! I know that you, my dear readers, have asked a lot about the apartment and I'm happy to finally fill you with some news since planning and realizing a new home is a long project, not something done in a day or week, more like months! After work me and my boyfriend headed to furniture store Sotka where we found this beautiful white closet! I'm thrilled over it! We're going to place it in our new study and due to its smart interior, it can function both as a wardrobe and a closet for e.g. folders and files.

We have also bought a new cream color carpet that we will place in our living room! I think it's beautiful! This from Hobby Hall.

Lately, I've been thinking about what pictures to put on one of our living room's walls. I've been planning to create a kind of frame collage from different kinds of frames on a shelf, somewhat like the ones you see in these photos.

I like the idea of mixing different size frames, and maybe even letters like you see in these photos. What do you think? What kind of pictures should I put in them in your opinion? Or maybe a mix of quotes and pictures? Black and white, or color? Drawings or photos? Too many questions - I need your help!

What's your opinion?

  1. That is great that you are finding time to work on the apartment! These pictures are great inspiration - I love the mixing of different sized frames. I love black and white photos, personally!

  3. firstly - such a cool post! great inspiration since we are in the middle of creating our dining and living room. and I have thought about using photos made by me.
but now your (difficult) questions.. if quotes are something that is important for you, use them, if not then don't. and maybe photos of you and your special someone, photos of your special events, moments etc. black & white photos and also colourful photos when colours are an important part to forward the emotions of the photos.
    good luck, Elisabeth!
