Tweed

Helsinki, 7 degrees

The grand style follows suit with all great passion. It disdains to please, it forgets to persuade. It commands. It wills.

After a relaxing weekend, the work week always hits you hard! Don't get me wrong, I mean this in a positive way since it's the best to be busy with things one is passionate about! Yesterday I visited a new restaurant serving Vietnamese summer rolls with a Finnish twist called Rulla, and today I held a Helsinki presentation to a school group from my own university. It was nice to notice how eager the tourism students were to find our about our field of business, and once again - Helsinki didn't let me down. There is so much to talk about the city that one and a half hours with the school group passed by in a blink of an eye!

Lately, I've been so inspired by jacket suits and tweed jackets and suits....

...that I just had to get this dark purple jacket and skirt from H&M when I found them!

At the same time, you got a sneak peek on a part of our new home!

Do you have something in tweed? How has your week started?

What's your opinion?

  1. It is always hard to get back to work after a nice relaxing weekend, I find! I am really loving this inspiration. Tweed is so classic and carries such elegance. You look so beautiful!

  2. Hi there, thanks so much for your comments. I took some tourism classes in Uni and loved it, so I can imagine the excitement of your students. There is nothing more iconic than a tweed suit by Chanel, I think your stunning version does great justice to the trend, the colour is amazing and you look so elegant!

  3. your post reminded me I actually have a newly thrifted tweed jacket and I've worn it a lot but have only one photo which I haven't posted. I should take it out from my wardrobe.
by the way, your new tweed items are so right for autumn and definitely the proper pieces to rock at work. nice choice!
and yes, the credit card thing is done in purpose. when I don't have it then I also don't have the temptation to shop in foreign online stores. I usually try to prefer thrifting when I can but sometimes I go to Stockmann and buy some designer pieces for a change. during sales of course! otherwise everything is too overpriced here in Estonian stores.
