Pattern blazers & storage solutions

Helsinki, 2 degrees

Paint the sky your favorite color, make it yours.

In order to find my way back to my joyful self, and beating my grief, this weekend has been all about looking forward to spring. I've been excited about one out of the first days with plus degrees, which made me glance towards spring fashion trends: pattern blazers and storage solutions.

Finnish Olivia got me dreaming about bright spring color. I've mentioned earlier on my blog how I gain energy from colors and when I browsed through my magazine and hit this page, my energy level instantly increased. I think spring is all about painting our life bright again, through our wardrobe.

I especially fell in love with the idea of having a yellow blazer, so I picked one up at H&M. I've also been looking at the blazers at Malene Birger, that you see here above, inspired by Olivia's page on the right. Birger's blazers are timeless, and I'll sure keep the name in my mind when I plan my next quality purchases. I love the cuts of those blazers!

But I've not merely been inspired by colorful blazers, but also ones with patterns. One of my favorite blogs, Frills and Thrills, introduced the blazer that has inspired me the most during the last month - Kate Beckinsale's graphic pattern blazer! I saw the look on Finnish the Voice.

I love her whole look! Where can I find this blazer, or a similar one? I'm also into floral pattern blazers, like this one that I found on Flickr.

Interior wise it has been the storage solutions I've seen on Finnish Divaani that have inspired me the most. Wouldn't it be lovely to organize one's clothes in the way showcased on this spread?

I love the idea of having shoes on the wall by storing them on lists or frames. Right now I only have one shoe pair on display, the red shoes I won from Finnish shoe designer Minna Parikka. You can see the pair in this blog post.

On this spread I love how the dresses and shirts are color-coordinated in the closet. I'll have to do the same with my dresses!

Do you color-coordinate your clothes? Which spring fashion trends have inspired you the most lately?

What's your opinion?

  4. oh yes I do colour-coordinate my clothes, as much as possible. I can even drive myself crazy with that but I can't help it, it's the perfectionist in me. today I colour-coordinated my skirts for example. and skirts must be my thing for spring. I have so many great skirts I haven't worn even once yet! I also love blazers, colourful and patterned ones. I have a couple of floral ones and colours aren't an issue either.
anyway, I must say this post gave me plenty of inspiration and I really enjoyed the whole thing. and I'm glad you're happier again. take care, Elisabeth!

  5. Hi Elisabeth, how are you dear, thinking of you and hope that you and you're family are coping and recovering well. It seems so insensitive of me to discuss anything else right now....but I actually have that exact yellow blazer. I'm a bit of blazer collector ;) The floral ones are great. Hang in there sweetie, sending you a Big Hug!
