White interior & Restaurant Day February 2013

Helsinki, 0 degrees

Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life.

Even though it's been difficult to find the right direction in my life lately, I now feel like I've gradually started to get hold of it again. Once again Purpose Fairy had an excellent text about feeling lost that has inspired me. Have a look at it here if you're experiencing similar kind of feelings, for whatever reason.

Steve Jobs once said: "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work; and the only way to do great work is to love what you do."

Spring is all about taking on new challenges and that is why starting a new project at work has helped me get back on track. I'll fill you in on that project as it proceeds. In the meanwhile, I wanted to share these inspirational interior photos that I found on Place for Dreams. See the whole blog post here. I guess I've found another dragonfly lover?

Last Sunday we over again enjoyed our one-day-long food festival, the Restaurant Day. You can read about the previous Restaurant Days in Helsinki in my blog posts here and here. I had the pleasure of enjoying some mushroom soup as the starter, a Moroccan food plate as the main course and a white chocolate cookie as dessert.

The mushroom soup was served in a tent at the Abattoir by a hearty couple from a city about 150 km from Helsinki that came to our beautiful capital just for the food festival. How nice is that?! The Moroccan food platter was served by a hair saloon that was turned into a restaurant - a genius idea! The restaurant was called Delila. We ate the cookies in the heart of the city from a restaurant called Pikkumakeeta, basically just on the street but on a festive day like it was, it was a real delight!

Oh, and have I told you about my current manicure - green fingertips? What do you think?

What's your opinion?

  1. What a fun day! Trying out different food is always a good thing, I think. I really love that quote. It's definitely true. It's easy to think of work as well, just work. But to do something you're proud of is entirely different.

and all that food talk is slightly making me hungry. tomorrow is my country's birthday and I just finished making a cake for the occasion but will not eat it before the right day.
oh and nice interior inspiration. I'm glad you've found something dragonfly related :)

    1. Thank you, I thought it was a shade of petrol. Now I have another color again, and dots, I'll have to show you in another blog post of mine :) I'm trying something new after having a French manicure for so long (over a year).
What kind of cake did you make for Estonia's birthday? I'm interested.
