Olive green

Helsinki, 24 degrees

Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings away all the same, knowing she has wings.

On summery weeks like this one, Helsinki becomes super busy. Alongside the city, even my life has somewhat accelerated. This week I've hosted two groups visiting Helsinki and taken them around the city. I've also had the chance to try two new restaurants, which is exciting. You'll hear more about all of this in upcoming blog posts. We've had exceptionally warm weather in Helsinki, so this week I've spent a lot of time outside, enjoying our new balcony that is finally finished. As I've spent time outside in nature I've noticed that I've grown particularly fond of earthy colors. For instance, olive green has hit me hard.

Some time ago when I got the new mail-order catalogue from H&M home, I couldn't help but fall in love with these olive green looks! I especially liked the idea of combining olive green with my favorite color since I've gone blonde - white that is. The rhinestone decoration on the front pocket made the blouse stand out. I think these two colors go together perfectly.

No wonder that this has been one of my favorite outfits right now, what do you think?

Some weeks ago we had a huge flea market event called the Cleaning Day taking place in Helsinki, and, of course, I had to participate! I managed to talk my sister into coming with me, so we spent the whole day selling our clothes and accessories on one of Helsinki's market squares. It was great fun!

Here's a video of the flea market event that I participated in. You can catch a glimpse of me at 00.45 in the lower left corner.

This time I combined a new oversized rivet sweater, olive green of course, with a floral maxi skirt. What a comfortable outfit! The chunky rivet sweater is excellent for summer evenings as the sun sets so late (today at 10.40pm!)! Right now I'm looking for the right maxi dress as well.

  5. I just recently bought my first olive green piece... it's a colour I've always overlooked but now that I own one piece, I realise how versatile it can be and I'm very excited to get some more of it into my wardrobe :) The colour looks beautiful on you, especially combined with white. Enjoy the beautiful weather!
