The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.

Helsinki, 9 degrees

If you ask me, Christmas time has officially started! The first Christmas café (Piironki by Köket) recently opened in Helsinki, next week I'll attend my first Christmas party of the season and about two weeks from now our official Christmas street Aleksanterinkatu with its atmospheric Christmas lights will be lightened! Even though me might not have John Lewis Department Stores in Helsinki, this ad made me smile so I thought I would share it with you in order to get you in to the Christmas mood I'm currently in. I think it's time to decorate our home for Christmas soon, maybe already next week?

Helsingin ensimmäinen joulukahvila, Piironki by Köket, avattiin hiljattain Aleksanterinkadulla, ensi viikolla minulla on ensimmäiset pikkujoulujuhlat edessä ja kahden viikon päästä Helsingin virallinen joulukatu ihanine valoineen avataan!

Have you already thought about what to get for your loved ones? I usually prefer nonmaterial gifts like spending time together, or going out to eat together with friends, but of course I usually buy Christmas gifts at least for the members of my family.

Oletko jo miettinyt mitä aiot hankkia jouluksi perheellesi?

Some time ago Finnish glasswear brand Iittala presented the interior blog Pinjacolada and its inventive use of Iittala wear. I love how the Iittala bowls are used as candy bowls in this setting.

Jonkin aikaa sitten Iittaa esitteli Pinjacolada -blogin kekseliäitä tapoja kattaa pöytä erilaisilla kulhoilla. Tykkäsin kovasti tästä karkkikattauksesta!

At least in Finnish blogs, the Finnish Design Shop has become widely popular as the number one source for design goods. I'm sure I'll have a look at that website during the upcoming weeks.

Viime aikoina olen myös kotimaisista blogeista huomannut, että Finnish Design Shop on yksi maamme suosituimmista designnettikaupoista. Sitä ajattelin käydä läpi joulu mielessä tulevina viikkoina.

Lately I've also been going crazy about star himmelis, like this one by Hruskaa I've seen attached to antlers on Etsy.

Even these by Hruskaa, also found on Etsy, attached to a simple branch they're stunning! Minimalistic home decor is the best!

Having said this, there's no occasions that aren't suitable for paper lanterns and paper party decor like these found on Etsy by Pomtree.

What kind of Christmas gifts are you thinking about this year?

Minkälaisia joululahjoja sinä etsit tänä talvena?

  3. I have already bought around 5 presents and will probably get some more from Oriflame later this week. for exmple I got some things from Joik and some from Seppälä :) when it comes to decorating our house I think we will do it a little before December 1. and I'm afraid this year we will only decorate our first floor because we started renovating our bedroom and had to store the furniture and other stuff in other rooms on the second floor. so there is very little spare room left. anyway, I'm still excited about decorating our kitchen, living and dining room and garden too :) haha, your post definitely made me think about everything related to Christmas! it was very inspirational :)
