Halloween party / masquerade + ...and that's who I am

Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.

It might not be a new idea, but since I recently stumbled upon the "...and that's who I am" blog, I thought it would be fitting to share some of the quotes that fit me like a glove. Actually, I found a lot of them, but in this blog post, I'll introduce 15 of them.

Vaikka tämä ei olekaan mikään uusi idea, ajattelin jakaa joitakin "...and that's who I am" -blogin lainauksia koska törmäsin taas vähän aikaa sitten blogiin ja ihastuin siihen uudestaan.

I've always loved playing dress-up. Even as a child, we used to play dress-up with my sister! During my studies, I took Halloween parties very seriously with my friends and I went to the Halloween parties as a housemaid, flying pilot, and geisha! However, I thought that this first quote is fitting since I actually went to a masquerade party last weekend! It was my sis' graduation masquerade party and it had a horror theme. Since my sis was traveling during Halloween, this was kind of a mix of a Halloween party and a masquerade. My sis hosted the party as a Day of the Dead "Dia de Muertos" character, and can you guess what I went as?

Maybe you figured it out - Hitchcock's The Birds' Melanie Daniels! Since I'm finally as blonde as I wanted to be for some time now, I thought I would embrace the hair color and go as someone known for her blonde hair. Some time ago, I saw the movie "The girl" where Sienna Miller also plays the role of Melanie Daniels, and I was so intrigued by the movie that I knew straight away that that was a character I wanted to dress up as when a suitable masquerade party came along. What a fun night it was! Remember that the theme was horror, that's why I'm wearing also fake blood.

Here follows the rest of the "...and that's who I am" quotes that I'll introduce in this blog post.

Tässä vielä muut "...and that's who I am" lainaukset, jotka halusin tuoda esille tässä blogikirjoituksessa.

Did you learn something new about me? Have you ever thought about which quotes would fit you?

Saitko selville jotain uutta minusta? Oletko koskaan miettinyt, mitä lainauksia käyttäisit jos sinun tulisi kuvailla itseäsi?

  3. Very nice and original costume choice! Movies can be a great inspiration what comes for masquerades and costumes. This post also makes me recall a bit the magic of Carnival as well, besides Halloween. Venetian masks and traditional characters are my favourite above all. I've always wanted to have a trip to Venice during that time, since it's not that far from my place, but nowadays it's really chaotic and crowded during Carnival.

I also remember falling in love with 'Dia de los muertos' costume make-up after reading a Smoon'Style blogpost a couple of years ago (http://www.smoonstyle.com/2011/11/scary-smoon.html). As soon as I have the occasion I'd really like to try it out as well.

I didn't know you like drawing :) that's definitely a thing we have in common.

Have a nice evening over there and take care!
