First snowfall & topic request for Christmas

Helsinki, 2 degrees

Source

Unless we make Christmas an occasion to share our blessings, all the snow in Alaska wont make it white.

And so it happened, that the first Sunday of Advent reached Helsinki in snow. Yeah, that's right. Last night we experienced the magical feeling of first snowfall here. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how wonderful it is to see those snowflakes fall down from the sky and leave a white blanket on the ground. Today since we had plus degrees, the snow melted away but they're promising that it might snow again tonight! How exciting!

I thought since it's the 1st of December that I would ask you to suggest to me Christmas related subjects that you would like to read about on my blog. That's how I've thought this year's blog Christmas calendar would look. Are there things you've been wondering about during this year? This is the moment you'll be waiting for. You can ask me questions or suggests topics for the upcoming blog posts!

The theme of this blog post is Advent and Christmas calendars. I recently bought the Advent buttons that you see here above through Etsy from Nicenicenice. I think true Christmas calendars are for families with children. At our home, they function as surprise signs, and me and my boyfriend surprise each other every day with small ordinary gifts until Christmas Eve.

Tämän blogikirjoituksen teema on ensimmäinen adventtisunnuntai ja joulukalenterit. Ostin hiljattain adventtinapit Etsyn kautta saksalaiselta Nicenicenice -verkkokaupasta. Mielestäni hard core joulukalenterit, jotka riipustetaan seinille, kuuluvat lapsiperheisiin. Meillä nämä napit toimivat yllätysnappeina, ja yllätämme poikaystävän kanssa toisiamme jouluaattoon asti pienillä arkisilla lahjoilla.

  4. we decorated some of our rooms (dining and living room, kitchen) and that's pretty much it, to be honest. when it comes to Christmas calendars mine is with chocolate of course but the ones with small presents look lovely and very exciting as well :) and you should for example post your wishlist for this Christmas.

  8. I love your idea for a Christmas calendar! My husband and I are like big kids, we usually both have chocolate calendars - this year mine is a bit more grown up as it has nailpolish in it instead of chocolate. But I think next season we will have to adopt your idea, it's brilliant :)
