Nordic Bloggers' Experience 2015 1/2

Helsinki, 2 degrees

A helicopter is just like a flying ceiling fan. My love is the journey of the breeze.

One city, four days, more than sixty bloggers and endless precious memories! This is how I would describe the sequel of Nordic Bloggers' Experience during MATKA - the Nordic Travel Fair (recognize me in the photo above with my black and green Ivana Helsinki work outfit?). It all started with a Get Together on Tuesday at Radission Blu Seaside and ended with an amazing Farewell Dinner & Karaoke Party at Best Western Hotel Rantapuisto on Friday! Or actually if you consider all the planning, it all started one year ago but that is another story...

But what happened in between these four days? This blog post is dedicated to the unique experience I organized on Wednesday for 24 bloggers - a helicopter ride above wintry Helsinki with Rotorway from Hilton Kalastajatorppa's pier! I had flown a sightseeing flight above Helsinki before in a small airplane, as you might remember it from this earlier blog post, but never before with a helicopter! And I must say, now I do understand the VIPs who fly with helicopters - the ride was so smooth! Even though it left the whole group of six persons who entered the helicopter speechless, believe me, it was a spectacular experience! Flying above the frozen sea, seeing the people and buildings underneath our feet - amazing! My city - Helsinki - looked so beautiful, I'm so lucky to live in Helsinki - that were the thoughts running through my head! We managed to lift off just in time to see the sunrise above the city - magical!

Have you ever been onboard a helicopter? How was the experience?

Oletko itse päässyt lentämään helikopterilla? Millainen kokemus se oli?

What's your opinion?

  1. nope, haven't had such experience but maybe someday :) it's exciting to read about the whole bloggers' event you organized and it's a little sad I couldn't be a part of it. I'm sure it would have been an amazing time! all those views from the helicopter window are awesome!

    1. Yes, I'm sure it would have been wonderful if you would have joined, but I know that you'll be back in Helsinki one day :)

  2. WOW. I cannot get over the view up there! I have never been on a helicopter but it looks like such a great way to do something different and discover the city.

  3. I had the chance at an airshow when I was little. Too scared to ask my mom if we could.
