Business trip: Copenhagen, Denmark

Helsinki, 2 degrees

Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale.

I think it's about time to write a blog post about my short business trip in December to the lovely Danish capital Copenhagen! I know this blog post is way overdue, but it somehow got lost in my drafts and now I noticed it again. It came to my mind since I'm planning my upcoming trip to another Nordic capital - Oslo, Norway that is! Ever since I visited Copenhagen for the first time in June 2012 (see blog posts here, here, here and here) and Gothenburg, Sweden back in 2013 (see blog posts here and here), something changed within me.

On jo aika kirjoittaa työmatkastani Kööpenhaminaan.

I started realizing how little I had done Nordic collaboration at my work, and how important it actually is for me. Then in Rovaniemi last March it hit me again because there all the Nordics were present. And in Stockholm last summer. And in Copenhagen in December, I felt this feeling again. I've always been very proud of being a Nordic, and thought of the other Nordics as our siblings. We share so many same thoughts and traditions. I can genuinely say that I believe that the Nordics are on top of the world geographically for a reason! I've always loved visiting the Nordic countries (until 2012 I had been merely in north of Norway and plenty of times in Sweden). I will, however, try my very best to emphasize Nordic co-operation also in my work. Wish me luck!

Toivo minulle onnea!

In December, I visited Copenhagen because of the New Nordic Food II (Ny Nordisk Mat) program's workshop. New Nordic Food II is a communication program under the Nordic Council of Ministers that promotes Nordic food in the region and internationally. NNF II ran during the period 2010-2014.

Joulukuussa kävin Kööpenhaminassa koska New Nordic Food II -hankkeella oli workshop-tilaisuus siellä.

Can you imagine that I stayed at a design hotel (Babette Guldsmeden) that had dragonflies everywhere in its interior design? Needless to say, I loved it! I must also recommend restaurant Höst and Copenhagen Street Food as it offered the best gastronomic treat during my trip!

Miten paljon matkustelet muissa Pohjoismaissa?

What's your opinion?

  1. Wow, your trip looks awesome! I love the photos, Copenhagen seems like it would be a beautiful place! Also, I love your outfit, and that's awesome that the hotel you stayed at had dragonflies all over it!

  3. I love the layering of your cosy outfit and also those sweet pastel shades you've chosen to combine with each other. that hat is the coolest by the way!
I have been to Norway, Sweden and Finland but not to Denmark so Denmark is definitely one of the Nordic countries that's in our future travels list. I have also heard it's a pretty expensive country but still both of us kind of dream about visiting it :)
ps. I'm sure it was your destiny to spend some time in such hotel! ;)

    1. Thank you for your kind words Maiken! Among the Nordics, Norway is definitely the most expensive one. And Helsinki is said to be the least expensive capital :)
