Blossom viewing = Hanami

Helsinki, 7 degrees

Rather than turning over a new leaf, prune your tree so that new leaves continue to blossom.

You might remember my love for cherry blossoms in Helsinki from my earlier blog post here! This year, I visited the cherry blossom viewing event called Hanami with my big sister, who has finally returned home after seven months of traveling! She saw Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Australia, China, and Nepal with her husband. You can imagine how happy I am to have her back home! We enjoyed a pink colored theme picnic in the Roihuvuori Park in Eastern Helsinki. I love how this article says "It’s easy to see why the symbolism of the event captivates so many Finns. Just like Finnish summer, the beauty and allure of the blossoms is intense but fleeting."

Voit varmasti kuvitella miten iloinen olen hänen paluusta! Tässä blogikirjoituksessa näet miten nautimme vaaleanpunaisen sävyisestä piknikistä Roihuvuoren kirsikkapuupuistossa.

Have you enjoyed cherry blossoms this year? How do you celebrate them?

Oletko itse nähnyt kirsikkapuita tänä vuonna? Miten juhlit niiden kukkaloistoa?

What's your opinion?

  1. They don't have them in my city. I always wanted to see them in person, especially the ones in Japan.

  4. nope, no cherry blossoms. we used to have several cherry trees in our garden but we took them down years ago because our garden is too small for so many big trees. we do have four apple trees though, and a young pear tree. they are about to blossom every moment now :) anyway, it was such a lovely post with all those cute shades of pink. I like your pink & black ensemble too!
