Behind the brand

Helsinki, 17 degrees

The whole of life is just like watching a film. Only it's as though you always get in ten minutes after the big picture has started, and no-one will tell you the plot, so you have to work it out all yourself from the clues.

During the past week, I have had the opportunity to not once, nor twice, but three times try how it feels to be in front of a rolling camera! As I haven't had videos on my blog, you can understand that practise is needed as a moving picture is something completely different from a still photo. So far during my work career I've been interviewed many times, but it doesn't mean that I'm used to seeing myself on video, haha.

The first video that was shot with me is the one you can watch here underneath. I was interviewed by local vlogger Joonas Villanen about social media and how we use it at Visit Helsinki for harnessing growth and promoting Helsinki as a travel destination. The second video was an interview for a local TV show named Huomenta Suomi, and in Finnish, so I won't share it here on the blog. That interview concerned a new food tasting product named Culinary Experience Finland that we have here in Helsinki and that I got to try last week. The third video shoot has to do with a big new project that is in store for next year. I can't wait to tell you more about it, and the website for the new project will be launched in less than a month, so I'll show you the video and tell you more about the project then. Exciting times! Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Did you learn something new from the video? Even though it's very much work related, I think you can relate to it since I talk a lot about Helsinki, don't you think?

Selvisiko jotain uutta videosta?

What's your opinion?

  1. I liked the video! And that beautiful dress and hat you are wearing! You look natural, I think you don't need to learn how to be in front of the video, you are really natural! I nearly visited Helsinki last year, but last minute plans prevented me from that.Actually I am about ti visit Helsinki for more than 10 years, and always "something". Hopefully I can do it soon :) I am sure it is fabulous!

  2. it was really cool to see you through a video and I think you did look natural and relaxed. probably because the theme of your talk was something so close to your heart. something you work and live with every single day. by the way, we thought about visiting Helsinki again this summer but I'm afraid we'll be going to Latvia instead. though I would really really love to visit Korkeasaari again. I'm sure one day we will.
