5 reasons to fall for Finnish design company Magisso

Helsinki, 23 degrees

I guess it's better to have a chalk smile, than an ink smile. Where chalk changes with the direction of wind, ink stays as a deep stain. Like rain, sun and hail against a fake plant.

If you ask me, the best way to begin hot summer days is to enjoy cold, healthy & filling smoothies! As I've mentioned before on the blog, in this blog post, one of our favorite smoothie recipes include blueberries, banana, honey and yoghurt. In this blog post, I've teamed up with Finnish design company Magisso to introduce to you their Cool-ID Tumbler. You might remember that I mentioned the company in last year's blog post when I fell for its tumbler at the local Habitare furniture, interior, home decor and design fair. Here are five reasons why I think you should get your own piece of Magisso. You can buy a set of two tumblers from for instance Kitchen Time.

Kitchen Time -verkkokaupasta.

Established in 2008 in Helsinki / Kotimaisuus

The Finnish founders of design company Magisso, Juhani & Anssi, work with a team of international talented designers who understand and value Finnish forms and function.

Chalkboard feature / Liitutauluominaisuus

The Cool-ID Tumbler's outer surface can be marked by using chalk. I love the fact that you can stand out from the crowd by personalizing it with a touch of creativity! Mielikuvitus on ainoa rajoitus!

Natural cooling effect / Luonnollinen viilentävä vaikutus

The Magisso Cool-ID Tumbler allows you to keep your favorite drinks cool longer - even in the hottest weather! You just have to soak the tumbler for 60 seconds under water for the natural cooling effect to start. Then, you can pour your favorite cold beverage into it and enjoy. The tumbler stays cold for hours! The tumbler stays 40% cooler than ambient temperature.

Design / Muotoilu

This particular tumbler is designed for Magisso by British Simon Stevens. It's a Red Dot Design Award 2015 Winner: "This tumbler stands out with its surprisingly long-lasting cooling effect. Furthermore, it is also convincing in terms of its formal design in contrasting colours." / Mukin on suunnitellut brittiläinen Simon Stevens. Muki voitti vuonna 2015 Red Dot Design -muotoilupalkinnon.

Size / Koko

I like the fact that the tumbler is plentiful, it's volume is 56 cl that equals a pint. / Mielestäni on mahtavaa, että muki on reilun kokoinen (5,6 dl). Näin mukia ei tarvitse koko ajan täyttää uudestaan vaan juotavaa / smoothieta riittää pitkään.

Do you use ceramics at home? What kind of ceramics do you like?

Minkälaisia mukeja omasta astiakaapistasi löytyy? Minkälaisista mukeista pidät?

What's your opinion?

  1. I like Magisso, and the fact that you can write what you want with chalk! So creative, I never saw something like that in terms of cups or mugs. I loved the opening quote, too. The temperature in Helsinki is perfect for me!
