Jewelry organization

Helsinki, 25 degrees

Myself, I've always been organized in waves. For months on end, slowly descending into disorder, I drift with the status quo. Then I wake up one morning with a sudden compulsion to color-code my socks or stack them vertically.

For some time now, I've been looking for new solutions for jewelry organization. This, because I've been thinking that it's time to update my jewelry corner on top of my bedroom drawer / dresser. You might remember how it used to look, if not, you'll find it in this earlier blog post.

Jo jonkun aikaa olen etsinyt uutta säilytysratkaisua koruilleni.

I was thrilled when I noticed that Swedish Ikea had introduced some transparent storage units - ideal for this purpose even though they suggest that you put in the bathroom! You can see that I kept some of the pieces from my previous set; Finnish Iittala's Vitriini boxes, the antlers I found on Etsy, the small Eiffel tower for rings that I picked up in Paris back in 2006 (you can find similar ones on Etsy here) and the orca artwork from SeaWorld Orlando that I inherited from my father. Novelties also include Danish Vanillafly's dragonfly hook. Now, the ensemble is much more creative & less cluttered, and I feel that it looks so much better and it's so much easier to keep tidy! This definitely goes beyong your average jewelry box!

Toinen uutuus on tanskalaisen Vanillaflyn sudenkorento -koukku.

What do you think of my new jewelry storage solution? How do you organize your jewelry - are they on display or hidden?

Mitä mieltä olet koruni uudesta säilytysratkaisusta? Miten itse järjestät korusi - ovatko ne esillä?

  3. such a cool post, Elisabeth! I love seeing my favourite bloggers' homes! your new storage solution is really pretty of course. looks perfect :) but about my jewellery - right now it's definitely hidden. I keep it in different boxes and cases and those in turn are in a temporary cupboard in our bedroom. I recently sold and gave away several pieces to create a smaller and better collection for myself but the process is still incomplete :)
