BohoNord: my favorite knit cardigan this fall

Helsinki, 10 degrees

The quiet transition from autumn to winter is not a bad time at all. It's a time for protecting and securing things and for making sure you've got in as many supplies as you can. It's nice to gather together everything you possess as close to you as possible, to store up your warmth and your thoughts and burrow yourself into a deep hole inside, a core of safety where you can defend what is important and precious and your very own. Then the cold and the storms and the darkness can do their worst. They can grope their way up the walls looking for a way in, but they won't find one, everything is shut, and you sit inside, laughing in your warmth and your solitude, for you have had foresight.

As you readers have expressed before how much you've liked Helsinki's street art on my blog, in my previous blog posts here and here, I thought I would take you to see one of the newest additions in town through this blog post. Recently, I teamed up with Finnish clothing & accessory web store BohoNord, and in this post, I wanted to showcase the super comfortable knit cardigan I got to choose from the online store. I love how BohoNord gets its inspiration from the North's ethereal nature, as well as the unique people of the Nordic countries. My fiance immediately told me that the cardigan has a native, almost indigenous, feel to it. I couldn't agree more. It feels endemic (it's made out of 40% cotton, 35% wool & 25% acrylic) and makes me feel like what I playfully like to call "an urban cowgirl", a natural boho-chic look I've liked for a couple of years already. In my opinion, this knit cardigan is my key warm piece this fall. It's the only knit cardigan addition to my wardrobe this season!

I think the felt hat I'm wearing in these photos enhance the feel of the outfit. I've also bought my first backpack since elementary school, so this fall I'm giving this old-school look a try! It's so practical & handy - perfect for pram walks!

Mielestäni käyttämäni huopahattu täydentää boho -ilmettä. Olen myös ostanut ensimmäisen repun sitten ala-asteen, joten tänä syksynä kokeilen menneen ajan tyyliä! Reppu on niin käytännöllinen - täydellinen vaunulenkeillä!

I took this cozy cardigan out on one of our daily strolls with my baby girl. I decided to show off the knit cardigan next to Swedish Graffitisthlm's impressive mural. It was recently created as a part of the international UPEA16 Street Art Festival (September 3-18, 2016). I think this mural is one of the most fun murals we have in whole Helsinki!

Vein neuleuutukaisen vauvalenkille mukaan Helsingin Vallilaan. Valitsin kuvauspaikaksi läheisen & upean muraalin, joka valmistui vastikään syyskuussa osana kansainvälistä UPEA16 -katutaidefestivaalia. Se on ruotsalaisen Graffitisthlm - katutaidekaksikon tekemä. Kaksikon taide yhdistelee sarjakuvamaisia ja leikkisiä piirteitä perinteiseen värikylläiseen graffitityyliin. Mielestäni kyseinen seinämaalaus on hauskin koko Helsingissä!

What's your favorite knit this season? Are you & your wardrobe all set for the most snug season of the year?

Mikä on sinun suosikkineuleesi tänä syksynä? Oletko sinä ja vaatekaappisi valmiita vuoden kodikkaaseen ja mukavaan vuodenaikaan?

What's your opinion?

  1. I think your fiance is right, the lovely cardigan has an indigenous feel to it, or maybe aztec, I really like it! And yes to the wall art, the more I see it here, the more I want to visit Helsinki as soon as possible! What for a lovely city! You look great, I loved the hat and backpack as well! Hope you have a very nice day!

  2. wow, another awesome graffiti - so fun and colourful! and your autumn look is lovely as well - very cosy indeed! I've been looking for a cardigan for autumn and winter by the way but haven't discovered the right one yet... our Estonian stores seem to have only the most boring variants. and my wardrobe is not set at all, it's a complete mess thanks to the renovation and I'm feeling a bit bad about it :P must assort everything next week!
