Helsinki, 4 degrees
Memries, like the corners of my mind. Misty water-colored memories - of the way we were. Scattered pictures, of the smiles we left behind. Smiles we gave to one another - for the way we were.
Vietettyäni kaksi ihanaa jouluista päivää (yksi äitini luona oman perheen kanssa, toinen poikaystävän suvun kanssa), löysin itseäni pohdiskelemasta vuoden merkittävimpiä tapahtumia.
My biggest moments from the past year has been (you can read about as good as all of these moments in my previous blog posts):
Merkittävimmät hetkeni vuonna 2013 ovat olleet (voitte lukea näistä hetkistä aikaisimmista blogikirjoituksistani):
My sister's wedding - Siskoni häät
My beloved father's death - Rakkaan isäni kuolema
"You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp."
-Anne Lamott
My three-year-anniversary with my boy - 3. vuosipäivä poikaystäni kanssa
My acceptance and school start (master level studies in tourism) on the side of working - Pääsy Haaga-Helian maisteritason matkailuohjelmaan (käyn koulua töiden ohella) & koulun aloitus
My trip to Sicily with my boy - Sisilian matka poikaystäväni kanssa
My great times with the best of friends - Upeita hetkiä ystävieni kanssa
My work - Työni
My beloved father's death - Rakkaan isäni kuolema

I could never tell that was your sister, you'll look so different. Funny how that works out sometimes. My youngest older brother looks a lot like me, but my oldest brother (though he is my half-brother through my mom) doesn't look like me at all.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she resembles more my mother than me :) People do say that we sound the same on the phone though...

actually I hope 2014 will be better than 2013 since 2013 has been quite difficult. there have been some health issues in my family and some other negative aspects I don't even want to mention. so yeah, I want to look into the future and think about that because we already have something exciting coming in spring :) but now about your post! I really enjoyed it since I remember pretty much everything through your blog. and those photos are full of happiness, sincere emotions and interesting, important moments. I have always thought about making similar posts but this means I must sit down, think about things, take some time and so on. you know :P so I better enjoy those posts from others :)

Thanks for sharing these thoughts and pictures about your 2013. When I read about people's experiences within a single year, and also when I consider my own experiences, I can't help thinking how much life can be like a huge rollercoaster ride sometimes. All we can do is try to find some strength in both happy and sad moments. Your pictures and words show this kind of energy, and I wish you to continue with this spirit also in the future!
ReplyDeleteTake care and enjoy these last days of 2013 :)
You're so right, life's just a huge rollercoaster! Let's enjoy the ride!

Haha! Maybe I'm listening too much to 'Last ride of the day' by Nightwish lately, but it is definitely becoming one of my deepest convinctions. Thanks for your kind reply in my (almost dead) blog as well and yes, let's enjoy the ride :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, let's!
