Wood is the new black

Helsinki, 19 degrees

Turn your face to the sun and all of the shadows fall behind you.

Unique wooden shades. Love style, love nature. Handcrafted premium quality. As we are experiencing Indian summer (a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn in the North), my favorite accessory has not merely been my reliable companion - the grey felt hat, but also my new Finnish wooden sunglasses! Woobs sunglasses are made out of 100% wood. Since every tree is unique, so are even every pair of glasses!

Kiitos Helsingin intiaanikesän olen huomannut, että luotettavan huopahattukumppanini lisäksi, lempiasusteeni tänä syksynä ovat olleet puiset aurinkolasit kotimaiselta Woobsilta. Woobs -lasit ovat valmistettu 100% käsityönä aidosta puusta. Koska puulla on elävä pinta, jokaisten lasien kuviointi on uniikki. Linssit ovat 100% UV -suojatut.

I've always been fascinated with trees, but since I last year picked up Rachel Sussman's book The Oldest Living Things in the World, I been under their spell even more so.

Puut ovat aina kiehtoneet minua. Viime vuonna löysin Rachel Sussmanin kahvipöytäkirjan nimeltään The Oldest Living Things in the World, joka sai minut entistä enemmän arvostamaan puita.

I was very excited when I heard that Woobs wanted to collaborate with me and offer me a pair of sunglasses. Out of Woobs' selection of sunglasses, I immediately knew that the Mastro Dark Ebony glasses were meant for me. The arms are made out of beautiful ebony wood and underneath the lenses there is a thin metal border. Simple and so elegant! The glasses came in a stylish wooden box that I intend to use as an interior piece at home. My urban cowgirl look of the season is complete - thanks to the sunglasses!

What do you look for the most in sunglasses? How many pairs do you own?

Mitä sinä arvostat eniten aurinkolaseissa? Miten monta paria sinulla on?

  3. wooden accessories seem to be quite popular these days because not long ago I found out about an Estonian brand which produces wooden watches. and now I see this Finnish brand producing sunnies. really cool! it's a great pair of glasses you chose and I also like your earrings. I've been looking for something similar. when it comes to my own sunnies I have probably around 8 pairs: something from Prada, D&G, Emporio Armani, Ray-Ban, Diesel and then something from not so well-known brands.
